Midday Reset for Your Nervous System

How are you arriving to this article?

As the day unfolds, it’s easy to find ourselves caught up in tasks and responsibilities, often neglecting our body’s needs. A midday reset can be a simple yet powerful way to invite calm and clarity back into your space.

Take a moment to check in with your posture. Are your shoulders hunched or tight? Let’s address that now. For a quick release:

  • Begin by sitting or standing comfortably.
  • Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four, allowing your shoulders to rise toward your ears.
  • On your exhale, release your shoulders back and down, feeling the tension melt away. Repeat this cycle for 60 seconds.

As you breathe, notice the sensations in your neck and shoulders. Allow each exhale to carry away any tightness.

After your practice, take a sip of water to hydrate your body and mind.

As you move through the rest of your day, consider this reflective question: What small action can I take right now to support my body and mind?
