As we reach the middle of the day, it’s a good opportunity to pause and reset. Whether you’ve been working at your desk or running errands, our bodies can hold tension that impacts our nervous system. Taking a moment to check in with yourself can create a ripple effect of calm.
Here’s a simple micro-practice to help you downshift:
- Begin by sitting comfortably, feet flat on the ground, and spine straight.
- Take a deep breath in through your nose, allowing your belly to expand.
- As you exhale slowly through your mouth, gently roll your shoulders back and down.
- Inhale again, bringing your shoulders up to your ears, then exhale and release them down. Repeat this for about 60 seconds.
- As you do this, notice the tension melting away from your neck and shoulders.
Now, take a moment to drink some water, feeling it nourish you.
As you check in with your body, consider this reflective question: What does my body need right now to feel more supported?
