Midday Reset: Grounding Your Body and Mind

How are you arriving to this article?

As we find ourselves in the midday pause, it’s a perfect time to reconnect with our bodies. Our nervous systems often mirror the busyness around us, so let’s take a moment to intentionally downshift.

Begin by checking your posture. Sit up tall, allowing your shoulders to roll back and down. As you do this, take a deep breath in through your nose, feeling your chest expand. Hold that breath for a moment. Now, slowly exhale through your mouth, letting go of any tension.

For a quick release, try this simple practice:

  • Take your right hand and place it on your left shoulder.
  • Gently pull down while tilting your head to the right, feeling the stretch along your neck.
  • Hold for 30 seconds, breathing deeply.
  • Switch sides and repeat.

As you complete this, take a moment to drink some water. Hydration supports our focus and energy.

Reflect on this: What is one small way you can nurture yourself in the next hour?
